Father…as Your people who profess to love You and seek to be committed to Your purposes, may we……Father, lead us to an understanding…and a willingness to accept it …that it will mean rearranging our lives, the goals we set and redefining the motives for our actions, and as we do this, may it be done because we love You and it is pleasure for us to do so…not because it may mean pleasure for us in the doing but because in the doing it pleases You…and that is pleasure for us.
Just as we budget our finances and time to accomplish an outcome we desire, may we budget every aspect of our lives to accomplish the outcome that in all things we are approved, and please…and are near to You.
As Your children, being transformed daily into Your image, may we commit the entirety of our being alive on this earth, our entire person, and the actions of our daily routines…may we commit to be about all that we do- to do so in Spirit, in Your Spirit…and to willingly couple that Spirit with physical actions involving resources and time and gifting… to the measure You have given us…willing to trust for what we feel we may not have.
May we take comfort that there is a body, one that we can rely on to take part in and contribute to the works and by and with Your strength and guidance we can do all the bases can be covered, all the things You task us to do.
If there is a struggle at all in the acting or doing may it be in how to…do…in a way that is right in Your eyes, yet wise towards all involved and may the struggle not be because our doing may be difficult or may involve contention we would just rather not endure.
May we be a different people, a peculiar people from the world… that define right and value, and satisfaction and success by Your standards…Father we pray.
Our spirit is willing Father…yet…
And because it is impossible to do without You… Father…as we at least offer willingness on our part…please yoke that willingness on our part with Your power and willingness… that we might be the people You want us to be…Father…please.
You loved us first. May we experience a conviction that inspires loving You in return and a love and care for one another.
May we redefine our lives and purpose to that end.
