2nd Day Prayer

2nd day

“T’oma answered Him, ‘My Lord and my God!’
Yeshua said to him, ‘Have you trusted because you have seen me?
How blessed are those who do not see, but trust anyway.’” John 20:28-29 CJB.

“Yeshua said to him, ‘What do you mean, …If You can?… Everything is possible to someone who has trust!’
Instantly, the father of the child exclaimed …I do trust-help my lack of trust!”
Mark 9:23-24 CJB

Father, faith, and doubt, the lure of sin, present in the newborn from above, seem so incompatible, and yet we experience them both in our walk.
Thomas was with You and witnessed Your wonders, yet he doubted the resurrection. The desperate father heard… maybe even witnessed… Your miracles, yet his plea had in it an element of uncertainty.
Being right there with You, eye witnesses, did not completely suffice for a faith that was perfect… without doubt.
Was it because they were unsure if you could, or was it that they were unsure that you would?
And these were there.
How much more difficult it would be for those to come who would not have the experience of witnessing the deeds of Yeshua in real life, or of hearing His words from His lips to their ears.
“Oh ye of little faith”… “If You have faith the size of a mustard seed…”
Maybe faith starts small, seasoned with hope that has uncertainty and fear, but grows to complete trust that has no uncertainty and fear in it at all, just as we grow from newborn babes in Christ into mature sons and daughters.
No matter… You did not belittle or cast Thomas out of the family for his doubt, and you did not refuse the desperate father healing for his child because of his uncertainty. You understand and allow for our doubts. You know they can and will make themselves felt even though we are determined to trust…
But in union with You… new creatures… Your children…may faith for us be eternal… doubts become temporary and fleeting.
There may be tears through the night, but morning is coming and with it joy… we may be sowing tearfully but reaping with joy… Mercies will be new and as certain as the gift of each new day… each and every day.
Father, please continue to be patient… and gracious… with us. May our faith and trust be immovable even in the company of doubts and those doubts momentary… and in the process of fading away altogether.

Blessed are You, Oh God.
To You…Wonderful One… belongs all glory and honor.
In Yeshua’s name we pray…

Amen.
