“ADONAI, You have probed me, and You know me…
…You discern my inclinations from afar…”
Knowing us as You do… the thoughts and words, the motivations of our hearts… the vast imperfection that we are… compared to You… You do not finish with us but You continue in Your love for us… to call us to be near.
“Where can I go to escape Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?”
How can we be so foolish to think You could be hidden from…that there is anything we could say or do… anywhere to go… that You are not there to witness?
And why in this world or any other… if such a place even existed Father… would we want to be anywhere You aren’t?
Father, such knowledge should affect how we treat one another.
Father… the love for us You have and Your ceaseless continuance in it is the pattern for how we should treat our fellow human beings, our brothers and sisters in the faith and one another within the walls of our individual homes.
Give us understanding that demonstrating that love involves living for others in addition to for ourselves and that that will include offering and sharing of our time and energy and resources…
And Father, form in us a heart, that only You can form, out of which the expectation of acknowledgement does not even exist…
having been given to freely… at Your hand… so freely we would give… and there be a satisfaction and joy in so doing that would be its own reward for us…
a reward more valuable to us than the gifts of men.
And when You probe and examine us… to know our hearts, to know our thoughts… genuine or false… by Your testing… may You see no hurtful way in us… see only that we would be found wholeheartedly following Your Way… Your lead.
We pray Father that You would find that our inclination is…to be useful to You… to be a part of bringing an end to the dark destructive spirits within the hearts of men that we see acted out in physical destruction and evil doings… seen in the warring of family members with one another, people groups with people groups and nations with nations… wherever Father…two or more are gathered.
We pray…
to be captured by Your Spirit…
to be known by You and in Your presence…
Father… lead us on… we pray…
