Father, in the spirit of Your desire for us to love You and one another, may these words be a guide and a goal for our conduct each day.
Please Father, we pray to You with this desire, but knowing that only by Your enabling power and the presence of Your Holy Spirit within us can we actually be capable of doing so and be successful. For we know, in our own power we haven’t the wisdom or the nature to love, to live in peace with one another as You would have us.
Show us the way Father, transform us into people whose nature desires good and enable us to come to the certain knowledge that Your Ways and our obedience to them, is where our focus and commitment should be.
May we not indebt ourselves for things of this world, beyond our ability to pay, or enter into indebtedness for things or people or causes that lead to a life of enslavement or would compromise our first and primary indebtedness and loyalty… which is to You. May the commitments we do make be in Your will and entered into and carried out in a way that honors You, and if not, be walked away from.
May we live a life in which we are free, free from the constraints this world would put on us, to live openly for You… for Your glory.
It may be the only, maybe the greatest selfishness we are allowed Father?… to become less ourselves… for You to become more… for us to put others ahead…
because we want so much for our own selves… to have Your favor… to have, for ourselves, Your desire to bring us near.
Enable this to be so Father, to the extent that it depends on us for our part… but trusting and counting on You to bring all to fruition for our good, the good of others and for the glory of Your Great Name…
