Teach Us Your Love

Love…”keeps no record of wrongs.”

This is Your Word Father.

If You are willing to forgive a wrong and strike it from our account, leave no record of it, then it must be because You love us…Father.

And You do… even though we don’t merit it.

If we are not willing to follow Your example then is there really any desire or capacity in us… to love at all?

And if we ourselves reject forgiveness extended to us, whether out of indignation…or guilt… will we ever be able to experience the love others have for us, that You have for us?

Father…may we become like You.

Teach us, Father, the many and varied characteristics and types of love so that we may practice them and be able to impress upon others that they have indeed been loved, are indeed loved.

Teach these things to us so that we will accurately perceive and understand that we have been and are loved.

More than anything else Father, may it be in us to be humbled by the love of others towards us in spite of our trespasses against them.

May it be in us to graciously strike from our minds a trespass against us by another and extend and strengthen our own love for them that is…

” patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful, not proud, rude ore selfish, not easily angered…does not gloat over other people’s sins but takes its delight in the truth…always bears up, always trusts, always hopes, always endures…”

Thank You Father, for Your love that is painful to receive and to express as well but also for Your love that is a source of delight to receive and to express.

Thank You Father for a way to bless You and to bless our spouses and children and our close and intimate friends, our community and world.

May we be zealous to know and protect and execute Your Ways that have as their goal, revelation of who You are, of Your Goodness, of the way to be like You, all of which enable us to love and be loved.

Who is like You…Father?

Teach us and enable us in the ways of Your love Father and may You be glorified.

In Yeshua’s name we pray,

1 Corinthians 13 CJB.
