Minchah Prayer

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,

Therefore will not we fear, though...

The earth be moved… the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea…

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God…

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved…

Nations raged, kingdoms were moved…

He uttered His voice, the earth melted…

The Lord of hosts is with us…

He maketh wars to cease… He breaketh the bow…

‘Be still, and know that I am God’…

The Lord of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our refuge…”

We are at war Father. Skirmishes are taking place in every part of our waking hours, battles to be fought… at stake the rightness or wrongness of every thought we have, every decision we make, every action we take… in our individual lives and as people groups.

No circumstance, no issue, is too small or insignificant in scope that the Adversary, and his hosts, would not bother to use it to his advantage for separating us from You,

He rages against You. He nurtures confusion and discord between the members of the family of mankind and there is not a single human involvement that is not targeted for, or is not actively experiencing in some way, the turmoil and destruction he wages against us all.

If at some point we achieve what seems like a cease-fire, a moment when things settle down and danger is not imminent, may we still be vigilant for it is only that he is taking this time to regroup, prepare and then continue the attack at a time advantageous to him.

The war continues and will continue; Losses will be suffered, gains will be made in each localized hot spot and firefight… within whoever and between whomever… until You bring the entire thing to an end.

At that point… all the world will be still…

All the world will know indeed… that You are God…

and You were our ever-present refuge and help in the times of danger.

Father… as we call on You to be our help and refuge…

as we place our trust in You and rely on You…

Be our ever-present guide…

Be ever present with us as we trust and follow Your lead…

Strengthen us to endure in each individual battle we fight…

Please Father, especially in contending with those we love may we do so with words and actions that though they may hurt… come to be understood as flowing from a heart that loves them… and softens and wins their heart to us… to You.

May assurance and peace and calm, like our own personal stream, ever flow in us…

off The River, that is You…

Thank You Father…

In Yeshua’s name we pray…

Amen
