So use your bodies to glorify God…” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 CJB
We make our plans…and then You direct our steps, Father.
So we pray this morning, a sacrificial offering to begin the day. We take the time to read Your Word and listen to what It says… take time to give You thanks and praise You…and to inquire…”What is Your will for our lives, for this day… Father… Are we there?”…for we are Yours.
We pray that those words are not just lip service we give, but that we would truly be seeking Your will… and with the absolute intention of accepting it and doing it.
Strengthen us against our flesh that is resistant to the promptings You give us, that would inspire a sense of their burdensomeness on us… and lead us to alter them or abandon them altogether.
If we seek Your Will truly, You will make it known. You have promised that.
Your will for us will grow us beyond where we are now. It will require us to move forward into actions we are unfamiliar with, uncomfortable with… no guarantee going in, that responses, reactions, or outcomes will be immediately rewarding as we would wish... and so we are nervous Father, and fearful…maybe we are lazy.
It is not hidden from us Father. You are not glorified. We do not grow stronger and closer to You when we speak of knowing and doing Your Will, then balk.
You are the Wonderful One, worthy of praise and honor and impossible not to be drawn to, easy to fall in love… and live in love, with.
May we trust and take hold of, and tightly, love for You, and in these, may Your will be sought, found and done in and through our lives. May these be strong in us for taking away any sense of burdensomeness or paralyzing fearfulness regarding doing what You would have us do.
May we become more like You…
More effective in glorifying You…
More effective in furthering Your Kingdom, here and now…
More effectively loving You…
And one another as well.
We are Yours, Father. Direct our steps…
Do in us Your Will today… Thine…
Praise and thanksgiving to You Father.
