“What do you want to be when You grow up?”
Father… I’m not sure…but I know this…
Whatever I end up doing I want to be…
“The brightness of” Your “glory”, “the express image of” Your “person”, “upholding all things by the Word of” Your “power”, born again of You to drink first the “milk” of “repentance from dead works”, “and of faith toward” You, Oh God, “of the doctrine of baptisms and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment”…this we do if You permit.
And as we grow to full age Father… may milk, “the first principles of Your Word” to us, progress to solid food, a deeper understanding of Your Word, our minds exercised “to discern both good and evil”, as we apply Your Word to our everyday lives.
May we be sources of both milk and solid food, as the need arises, to “minister to the saints” yoked with You…young and old…
May we be a source of milk and solid food for those who don’t know You and are hungry.
Enable us to be what is needed Father… because… “…not we, but Your grace which is with us…
