Minchah Prayer 05-18-22

Father, when there is a lot to do out in front and we want to get the day started, the temptation is to rush through our time with You.

Thinking about what needs to be done, we might even have forgotten…You first…think to ourselves…

“Oh yes, almost forgot,

sorry.

Yes, I’ll take a minute.

A quick prayer. Let’s see… what?…

Man! Wanted to get right to this other…

what to pray that will satisfy You?… without getting caught up into promptings.

…This is going to slow me down…

Just a quick thought expressed maybe… no waiting…so I can get going?

Sigh…siiiiiiiigh… No getting around it, is there Father?… You won’t be satisfied with a pressured, hurried word or two offered…with divided attention in a spirit of…obligation met…heart absent.

Ok… here I am…”

Here may we, You Father and I, be without the distraction of time hovering over…

Be it a moment…or an hour… or whatever… may communion with You, our union with one another… my attention and Your attention… be focused exclusively towards one another… I do…we do… pray.

Thank You Father that You woo with patience.

Bring us to that point where the love act of our prayers is not hurried and mechanical… but anticipated, thoughtful and heartfelt.

Surrender to You…

Funny Father, how this quiets…

And we have not slowed progress… but given to it meaning and an assurance in our spirits…that all is going to be well…

Not because of what we see but because You are there with us.

Glory Father…glory be to You.

Look into our minds Father and our hearts as we present our concerns and our praise.

We offer it all to You…

And we go in the peace of trust.

Thank You Father…

We pray lovingly to You…

In Yeshua’s name…

Amen.
