2nd Day Prayer

2nd day

Father, a prayer for we who have been blessed by You with enough years to be called elderly.

Father, we are supposed to be the wise ones. We are supposed to know the answers. And in a way maybe we are that.

If we are honest we can share out of our failings along the way and their consequences for us and others, as well as our successes and in what way there was benefit in them.

Father, You have made it possible, at a time in life when there may be less and less we can physically do, to still be of value, a help in time of need… the need a point in the right direction, to be a sounding board, a different perspective, someone who will be honest and from the reservoir of life experience in our walk, offer council we would go back in time armed with… if we could.

Isn’t that kind of what You want from us, what You have set up for us… to work our way out of this place, helping someone else as we go?

Yes… they must be willing to receive such a thing but over that we have no control.

Yet thank you for our part… Father… all the same.

Please keep us mindful as well, Abba Dear Father, that though we are all older than some at the same time that we are younger than others… we are never in a place where we who are elder would not benefit from the wisdom and knowledge You have sewn into the lives of others and the example of the love they have for you… regardless of age.

Thank You Father for Your attentiveness to every season and circumstance of our walk with You.

In Yeshua’s name we pray,

Amen.
