Minchah Prayer

Updated: Jul 11

“…Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be sensitive to each other’s needs…”  Romans 12:15 CJB

“…at present your abundance can help those in need; so that when you are in need, their abundance can help you - thus there is reciprocity…”  2 Corinthians 8:14 CJB

Father, there is such wisdom, such perfect usefulness in those things You instruct us to do.

In Yeshua, You enable us to, from the heart, rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep… not for gain… but as an action of love for one another… the instruction has a practicality and usefulness that isn’t the goal but ends up in reward all the same...

in our own circumstances… having rejoiced and wept with others in their circumstances… they in turn will do the same for us.

Help us to understand and gratefully live by this instruction, especially in times when we are the ones weeping.

It’s easy to be generous and unselfish in good times but there are going to be times when we ourselves, will be in a vice, victims of circumstance of nothing we could help, maybe in consequence of our own doing.

And there is temptation… when we are in humbled circumstances, and because we are ashamed or embarrassed or prideful, not  wanting to be seen or thought of in these ways… there is temptation to hide the fact or refuse the presence and fellowship those in a better place could offer us… offered not just or only to help or encourage but out of  loving and compassionate hearts that we might not go it alone…

Father… we pray… Your transforming taking place in each of us would mean we be sensitive to one another’s  needs… that we would be genuinely aroused to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep…

that in our abundance we would certainly be there for others but also when we find ourselves in some diminished or trying state of our own… we would not shun the presence, the fellowship of those moved to accompany and comfort and aid us… as they do so in obedience to Your prompting… and in the doing, rely on the words and actions You… in Your perfect wisdom… know are right and needed.

We pray Father, both the giving and the receiving will be as of blessing and that we would be grateful… thankful… in either case.

We pray to You Father, the essence and embodiment, the completeness of love…

In Yeshua’s name …

Amen.
