First Sabbath of Each Month
Love Your Neighbor outreach is a monthly ministry dedicated to serving the homeless in our community. On the first Sabbath of each month, food donations are collected with the purpose of sharing Yahweh’s love in a practical way.
Items gathered include non-perishable foods in individual serving sizes—such as cans with pop-top lids, bottled water, fruit cups, small packs of crackers, and healthy snack bars. In addition to donations, designated funds are used to purchase extra items to ensure the needs are met as fully as possible. Attached is a full list of recommended donations.
Each month, 50–60 care packages are prepared and handed out. A few packages are also kept at the fellowship for individuals to take and keep in their vehicles, ready to share as opportunities arise. While the full impact of this ministry is known only to the Father, Lester oversees much of the distribution and often has insight into how these gifts are reaching those in need. Through this outreach, the fellowship seeks to embody Messiah’s command to love our neighbors, offering hope and care to some of the most vulnerable in our area.
